About IIT SPOKEN TUTORIAL

Loreto College is the Academic partner of IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial project. The Program is a part of the National Mission on Education through ICT, MoE, Govt. of India, to spread IT Literacy all over India. We are promoting the learning and usage of Free & Open Source Software (FOSS), through an Audio-Video teaching tool, viz, 'Spoken Tutorial'.

IIT Bombay, Spoken Tutorial program has partnered to work with Calcutta University towards empowering all students pursuing Higher Education UG and above by providing a range of IT Skills training, from General IT/Computer Skills to programming software to lucrative job oriented software training with Certificates.

As part of this programme all students of 1st year (Honours and General) will have to undergo a compulsory self-learning training on Libre Office Writer and sit for an on-line examination. Date of examination will be notified later.

Students are requested to follow the following steps for downloading and using Libre office :

(1) Click on Download Libre Office to download the zip file containing the software (Use Mozilla Firefox Browser, if you are unable to download in Chrome)
(2) Extract the .exe file from the zip file
(3) Double click on the .exe file to install Libre office on your computer
(4) View the Spoken tutorial videos and practice them on your computer
