Certificate Course          
in          
Life Skills for Personal Empowerment

This 30-hour, 1-credit Certificate Course in Life Skills for Personal Empowerment aims to equip learners with essential competencies for effective personal functioning, social interaction, and leadership in contemporary life.

The course emphasises experiential learning through interactive workshops, reflective activities, collaborative exercises, and real-world applications that foster holistic development.

The curriculum is organised into three integrated modules — Learning to Do, Learning to Live Together, and Leadership — each aligned with measurable learning outcomes and assessed through skill-based activities, reflective assignments, and projects.

Module 1: Life Skills in Practice & Leadership

Build capacities to prepare for interviews and job readiness          
Develop ICT and new media skills          
Create and track a personal budget with income, expenses, and savings goals          
Understand credit, debt management, and basic investing principles          
Develop financial empowerment strategies for independence

• Career Planning: Choosing the right career, Sources of career options          
• Career-ready skills (Resume preparation, facing interviews, teamwork, coping with failures, self-branding, manners and etiquette)          
• Entrepreneurship          
• Group discussion and face-to-face interviews

• Media and Social Media Literacy          
• Financial Literacy

 

Module 3: LEARNING TO BE & LIVE TOGETHER (Parallel Session)

Identify personal strengths, values, and beliefs through self-assessment          
Recognise and regulate emotions using mindfulness and reflection techniques          
Build resilience through stress management strategies          
Develop empathy and cultural sensitivity          
Master effective communication and interpersonal relationship skills
