The Loreto College Open Day was held on January 10, 2026. The Open Day has been a well-loved tradition of Loreto College, Kolkata, with NGOs, women entrepreneurs, and students of the college coming together to celebrate a fun fete for all. Organised by the Loreto College Alumnae Association (LCAA) in collaboration with Loreto College, Kolkata, Open Day not only offers ex-students an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their alma mater but also encourages entrepreneurship among women.
Over a hundred stalls by women entrepreneurs, students and NGOs were part of the event this year. Handmade items such as soaps, candles, coasters, stoles, crocheted bags and keychains, tote bags, jewellery, and clothing were sold alongside a wide range of food items. Prochesta, the banner under which the women entrepreneurs of Loreto College’s adopted village work, also put up a stall. The face painting booth by the Art and Crafts Society of the College was a major crowd puller together with the Disco Theatre set up by AICUF. There was a free Zumba session which added to the liveliness of the event. Mehndi and nail art booths were also major hits among all. Games and food stalls were set up by the various departments of the college. The W.E. Nature Society sold vermicompost and notebooks made with recycled paper. The entire college wore a festive look as students, teachers, ex-students, family members, and friends of the college came together on a sunny January day for fun and merriment. The proceeds of the departmental stalls and society stalls shall be utilised by the college for a charitable purpose.
