The Global Education and Career Fair (GECF) 2026 was successfully organized on 10th April 2026 at the Loreto College Concert Hall by Bluesky in collaboration with the Career Counselling Cell, Loreto College. The event brought together students, educators, and distinguished guests for a day dedicated to exploring global academic and career opportunities.
The programme commenced with the arrival of university delegates and dignitaries, who were warmly received and escorted to the venue. The formal inauguration began with an introductory address by the Master of Ceremonies, followed by the felicitation of eminent guests including Mr. Ashida Katsunori, Deputy Consul General of Japan; Mrs. Rupkatha Sarkar, Principal of La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata; Captain Prakash Pradhan of Rockvale Academy, Kalimpong; Sister Dr. A. Nirmala, Teacher-in-Charge of Loreto College; and Mrs. Purbita Bagchi, Principal of Loreto House School.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the official beginning of the event. Sister Dr. A. Nirmala delivered the welcome address, accompanied by the Loreto song, setting a warm and inspiring tone. This was followed by brief addresses from the dignitaries, who shared valuable insights on education and career pathways. The fair was formally declared open thereafter.
The event offered a vibrant and engaging environment for students. Alongside the academic and career guidance booths, several interactive attractions added to the appeal of the fair. A dedicated quiz room saw enthusiastic participation from students eager to test their knowledge. Food stalls provided a lively space for refreshment and informal interaction, while the live painting station drew large crowds, showcasing creativity and artistic expression.
The fair continued throughout the day till about 5:00 pm, allowing students ample time to explore various opportunities and engage with representatives. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of a well-organized and enriching initiative.
Overall, the Global Education and Career Fair 2026 proved to be a dynamic platform that effectively combined information, interaction, and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on all participants.
