The Career Counselling Cell of Loreto College organised an interactive session on 16 February 2026 with the distinguished chef and restaurateur Asma Khan. The programme was attended by students, faculty, and alumnae, all of whom gathered to hear her reflections on her professional journey and personal experiences.
Khan spoke about her evolution from her early years in India to establishing herself in the culinary world in London. She highlighted the determination required to build credibility and to assert oneself in environments where leadership opportunities have traditionally favoured men. Her address underscored the importance of perseverance, self belief, and mutual support among women.
An engaging discussion followed, with questions from students on career choices, overcoming setbacks, and negotiating social expectations. Ms. Khan responded thoughtfully, encouraging participants to pursue their ambitions with integrity while remaining sensitive to the value of community.
The session proved both motivating and instructive. It reaffirmed the role of the Career Counselling Cell in creating platforms where learners can encounter lived experiences, gain practical guidance, and draw inspiration for their future endeavours.
